The 2012 Era: 1980-2016 (5740-5777)

Image
The Earth has a 26,000 year processional cycle. According to John Major Jenkins, Mayan researcher, we are at the galactic alignment now.

“The Galactic Alignment is the alignment of the December solstice sun with the Galactic equator. This alignment occurs as a result of the precession of the equinoxes.

Precession is caused by the earth wobbling very slowly on its axis and shifts the position of the equinoxes and solstices one degree every 71.5 years. Because the sun is one-half of a degree wide, it will take the December solstice sun 36 years to precess through the Galactic equator (see diagram below).

The precise alignment of the solstice point (the precise center-point of the body of the sun as viewed from earth) with the Galactic equator was calculated to occur in 1998 (Jean Meeus, Mathematical Astronomy Morsels, 1997).

Thus, the Galactic Alignment “zone” is 1998 +/- 18 years = 1980 – 2016. This is “era-2012.”

May 24th: A Case Study for how to easily draw up an event chart

Image

Q: Maybe you could also do a chart for around NOON on 5-24-2014 in Israel. The Pope will be there then…would love to see what the stars have to say about THAT! (Is this a computer program you use or do you have to pour over volumes of books to make these things? Don’t want to over-tax your skills!) Thanks again!!

A: I actually have a post with the pope’s full schedule since I find this whole visit very interesting. He will be in Jordan on the 24th and in Bethlehem the morning of the 25th and then Jerusalem in the afternoon of the 25th.

Here is a chart anyhow for the 24th at noon in Jerusalem. I’ll be happy to do another for 5/25 in Jerusalem at noon or 5pm.

Pulling up charts is really easy. You go to astro.com, then in the left-hand column click Free Horoscopes, then under that Chart Drawing, Ascendant, then it gives you a form to fill in with date, time and place. You can also use the site planetwatcher which pulls up the tropical astrology for any given time but is not location specific.

It gets trickier if you want to get an idea of where the planets are vis a vis the actual constellations in the night sky, which is a narrow stream of astrology called sidereal (the sites above use tropical astrology which uses the fixed divisions of the heavens based on where the constellations were 6,000 years ago). For sidereal astrology I use Stellarium and you have to have an idea ahead of time of what planetary body you want to check. I did see a video on another thread about a rare Venus/moon conjunction the morning of the papal visit which would be interesting to pull up in that program!

Note: Here is some further reading on the context of the Pope’s visit. 4 June (6 Sivan) is the anniversary of the passing of King David, whose burial site is the subject of some controversy leading up to the visit.

Sun conjunct Pleiades at 00′ Gemini: How to use the tropical and sidereal zodiac in harmony and recover the art of sacred timekeeping in the modern day

Here’s a chart for 11pm tomorrow 5/20 in NY when the sun enters Gemini, which is also when the sun is conjunct the Pleiades which are now at 00′ Gemini.

Comment: The interesting Sidereal Zodiac per NASA. http://spaceplace.nasa.gov/starfinder3/en/
Sort of like a wheel in a wheel concerning the Western Tropical Zodiac.
It reminds me of the Georgian Calendar and the Hebrew calendar
(from WinterStone on GLP)

Response:

I consider the sidereal zodiac a helpful tool in a larger toolbox. The problem with sidereal how I see it is that there is no fixed point of reference since everything is moving due to precession. So I find it helpful to use the tropical zodiac for keeping track of the sun and other bodies traversing certain imaginary lines that never move in the celestial sphere and then also keeping track of the movements of the sun and other planets vis a vis the constellations and fixed stars. This is why the Pleiades conjunction with the sun is so important, more so than the sun entering “Gemini”, which is really just where Gemini the constellation was when the Chaldeans invented the zodiac as we know and use it, which has since moved about 22 degrees (1 degree every 72 years).

The sun in sidereal Taurus is a very rich time, this is where aldebaran is, the all seeing eye of the bull, and the Pleiades, which the sun is conjunct tomorrow, and the bull as you know as a whole as a symbol and one of the animals of the chariot. Notwithstanding my comment above the basis of astrology has always been looking at the heavenly bodies and how they appear vis a vis the other stars in the sky! I am just suggesting that we also find a point to tether it all to, and I think we will find that point when we discover the mystery of precession and our sun’s own binary star, i.e. What we are rotating in relation to, and also the polar shift and alignment of our earth’s axis.

Also one last point is that the Mayans were concerned with the Pleiades and in some way this is the true new year.

Similar to the natal retrograde Neptune, the transiting retrograde causes sensitivity and receptivity to be much more acute. Due to this heightened receptivity, we are allowed to see far more than is possible when Neptune is direct. This is possibly a result of augmented intuitive or inner vision that bestows a different and more insightful perspective on matters. ~ Lynn Koiner

Increasing the Experience of Oneness (Gnosis) through the Incorporation of Paradox and Expansion of Dimensions ~ Mezuzah

the merkabah is the state of perfect knowledge about which it is said
‘Whenever one has knowledge (da’at), it is as though the Temple was built in his days’
Image

there are tools that bridge between the state of total acceptance and willingness to go through anything the universe brings upon us, and our ability to direct this energy; one of these tools is prayer which begins with gratitude and thus acceptance of what is, becoming one with the all of existence, and bringing down more collective good (healing/miracles) on the way down; the other is performing physical acts that bridge the material and spiritual spheres more quickly and readily than normal, which create mini-portals for accelerated miracles; these include acts of kindness, ethical wholeness, structuring our material environment in alignment with oneness… for issues around a house there is an ancient tradition of putting up a small scroll of text declaring the ultimate oneness of G-d and our commitment to live in alignment with this, and placing this upon the doorways of our home as a metaphor for inscribing this text on all the doorways of our body (eyes/ears/nose/mouth) so that no sensory information can take us away from this ultimate point of gnosis and moreover that our experience of physical reality actually increases our gnosis of the oneness through incorporating paradox and more and more dimensions

And you shall write [the words that I command you today] on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. -Deuteronomy 6:9, 11:19

Cyrus Gordon (1995) proposes that the Los Lunas Decalogue is in fact a Samaritan mezuzah. The familiar Jewish mezuzah is a tiny scroll placed in a small container mounted by the entrance to a house. The ancient Samaritan mezuzah, on the other hand, was commonly a large stone slab placed by the gateway to a property or synagogue, and bearing an abridged version of the Decalogue. Gordon proposes that the most likely age of the Los Lunas inscription is the Byzantine period. ~ las lunnas stone

For more information about mezuzot or to purchase valid scrolls for a mezuzah online, visit the Jewish FAQ or S.T.A.M. website.

More from Jewish FAQ:

The mitzvah to place mezuzot on the doorposts of our houses is derived from Deut. 6:4-9, a passage commonly known as the Shema (Heb: Hear, from the first word of the passage). In that passage, G-d commands us to keep His words constantly in our minds and in our hearts by (among other things) writing them on the doorposts of our house. The words of the Shema are written on a tiny scroll of parchment, along with the words of a companion passage, Deut. 11:13-21. On the back of the scroll, a name of G-d is written. The scroll is then rolled up and placed in the case, so that the first letter of the Name (the letter Shin) is visible (or, more commonly, the letter Shin is written on the outside of the case).
