From the law of attraction we learn that we attract that which is in alignment with our current vibration: if we feel abundant and rich, we attract fortune and wealth; if we are constricted and fearful, we attract negativity and obstacle. What is the way out of this maze? How can we leap from fear, negativity and constriction to abundance, joy and prosperity? How can we shift our vibration when we feel locked in predetermined cycles and deep-ingrained fears, constrictions and patterns?
The Kabbalistic approach to the Law of Attraction has a twist to it: All darkness is actually in essence condensed light; all obstacles contain within them the key to transcending them; all fallen manifestations are in fact reflections of spheres of wholeness and perfection on high. In astrology, we see this in the ability of an astrolger or an individual to transform challenging aspects or placements into opportunities for growth; in Tarot, cards of misfortune as guiding posts and friction which can be mobilized for epic shifts; in meditation, we can focus on pain until it becomes fluid enough to provoke healing. In all spiritual and intuitive disciplines, the practitioner has the power to shift perspective and transform hardship into gain merely by infusing the layout with light, joy and conscious awareness.
The hardships we are sent are not merely thought patterns or experiences from which we are asked to flee for abstract hopes of serenity, but are rather the building blocks from which Source Divine wants us to reach our serenity. And in fact, by accepting our current situation for what it is–building blocks–we have already arrived at serenity, the vibration from which all blessing begins and to which all blessing flows.
The first potential pitfall arrives the moment we feel the discomfort of the obstacle, when it nags at our very being and desperately tugs at our ego’s particular view on how things should be. We are paralyzed by the stark contrast between the riches we have began cultivating and the dagger that has been thrown directly into our palace, we are programmed to stand aghast at the irrationality of a universe that could send such an unfitting disturbance into our midst at such a critical time. The origin of our reaction of such a cry of injustice derives from two faulty assumptions: the first is that our present justification that the way in which we are carrying forth is unblemished and in its highest, most perfect form. The second is that that which has disturbed us has arrived to throw us off, holds no message of its own, and is best dealt with by building missile defense systems and counter-missiles until we feel secure in the fortress of our own self-justification and the nihilation of all that is foreign to the narrow way in which we have defined ourselves and our purpose.
Yet if we align ourselves to a Higher self within our own creative process and within our own self-development, we will become so attuned that we will even pick up on the molecules of goodness that are contained in that which we had initially identified as an intruder. For nothing exists in this world without a spark of the divine; and in fact, once we identify the divine spark within a thing, that which was abhorrent, constrictive, and derailing in the disturbance falls away, and for this purpose it came our way. In a dualistic world of spirit and matter, our task is to refine matter in a way that it reflects the highest vibration of Spirit, through our daily interaction with outside events and with our own thoughts and emotions. Moreover, whereas in previous generations this process took place mostly on the scale of world history and society at large, today it takes place mostly in the realm of our own individual experience.
In other words the battlefield for the cosmic battle of liberating God from within the constricting vibration of matter takes place within the world of our own thought, and in particular, within the minds of those who become aware of the importance of their own conscious mental abilities. When we can relinquish attachment to the rigidity of the ego and attune ourselves selflessly in search of the Higher good in that which may appear as an opposition, we are actually working out the remaining “kinks” of God Himself. Every time we transcend ourselves and orient towards that which appears to threaten our smaller selves with an intention to redeem the Light from within the constriction, we are doing something which has never been done quite like this before; we are alchemizing the very molecules of thought, emotion and everything that will unravel from this point forward.
Because of the supreme importance of this momentary disassociation with self, disciplined surrender to the vibration of that which feels contrary to self, and the redemption of that which corresponds to Higher Self from within the disturbance, there are bound to be immense difficulties on this path. Density prefers if we ignore our disturbances, label them as useless, and toss them into the Trash bin–rather than the Recycle bin. However, if we are bold enough to believe that the Source of everything is Spirit, and that no density is strong enough to conceal Light in the face of unprecedented willpower flowing from our exhilaration of Oneness, then we can actually undo the last knots of God’s being, and prepare for the complete unravelling of matter into its true nature and its true holographic reality–the Spirit from which it came, and the Spirit which is its destiny.
Those who sow in sorrow will harvest in joy–the seeds within the earth’s clefts of matter are the very nuggets of immortality which will become the new soil from which eternal Life will begin, and the souls who believed in this reality all along will be the leaders in the Dance of Exaltation for all that is eternal, true and joyful in this universe, for that which they knew all along was inseparable from source.

When transiting Pluto forms aspects to our natal planets, we can feel a powerful undercurrent of transformation rock an area of our life that we were sure stood steady. Pluto is best at pointing out the deepest layers of hypocrisy, self-escape, or hidden insecurities and instead exposing our vulnerabilities, re-igniting unmet dreams and buried parts of our identity, and unearthing discontinuities between our deepest, highest selves and the way in which we have lived our lives up until this point. Pluto’s methods are aimed at total, uncompromising revealing of all truths–kind of like a surprise police search–which can be completely unsetting and even frightening, as there are no more drawers, cabinets and safes in which the ego can hide; all has been opened, and almost violated. Yet in this case the means justify the ends: Pluto is constantly moving towards and is guided by the unwavering urge to manifest that which is most precisely aligned with the soul’s essence and life purpose.
With Pluto presently at 4 Capricorn, this transit will have a particularly strong effect on those with their sun, rising sign, or key planets in the opening arc of the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn). As Pluto aligns with our natal planets, it unearths all the dirt that has accumulated in the recesses and clears the channel between us and our planets. Even if a certain planet has brought us a lot of blessings, those blessings can only be fully integrated into our personalities and brought into the world if they are pure, that is, if they are deeply and authentically aligned with our true self. And if we need a refresher on who our true self is, Pluto is happy to provide it, although the void may come before the answer. What’s important to remember in a Pluto transit is that destruction is the basis for rebuilding, darkness precedes light, and void opens the space for Life.
Are you curious how Pluto’s transit through Capricorn is affecting your own birth planets? Feel free to post your birth time and place and/or your planets’ coordinates if you know them, and I’ll offer what I can see through my own study and intuition. Also feel free to share whatever you wish about current issues you are facing and resolutions you are seeking.
Since August 31st, we have been in the Hebrew month of Elul, which corresponds to the traditional Zodiac sign of Virgo. In Kabbalistic astrology, Virgo is called “betula”, the biblical word for virgin. What is the deeper meaning of the betula? The betula signifies wholeness, purity, that which is unblemished and unmarred, who manages to stay pure in any situation. She is powerful feminine energy, and she hovers close to God, even above the saints. Inside each of us there is a point at which we are complete genuine, with no effort, a point at which we can relate to God out of our own essence, a place from which we can channel divine power, where we can create, bless and sanctify.
What does it really mean to be genuine? Nearly every part of our lives demands from us that we put on some mask to navigate complex relationships and systems, most of which are based on incessant cost-benefit analysis and advancement of ego. We know no other way because we take this as the nature of this world. And yet right beneath the layer that we usually act out of is a force of uniqueness and spontaneity that is our God-given heritage. Thank God we all have some places in our life that we can act out of our essence, out of our genuine self, that which knows no other way than to simply be itself, because it is a ray of the Divine that knows only how to shine.
This month is a time for us to take special time on our own, with our loved ones and with God to let ourselves believe that there is a place within us that has never taken a blow from this world, that is whole and pure…like a Virgin. With this freshness and tenderness, we can unleash great sources of healing, inspiration and optimism from within our own beings, which will be available to us year-round. It is a month for believing in our divine potential, and for turning belief, drop-by-drop into a lived reality. There is no effort in accessing the Betula, because she is already there, eager to be revealed and noticed, if only for a moment, before she blushes, and refuses to take on any self-awareness, preferring only to dive into the river of life itself.
Famous Virgos include: Roald Dahl, Michael Jackson, D.H. Lawrence, Mother Teresa
Please share your betula-virgin experiences, intentions dreams this month, if you wish!
